About The Archive

First of all.. allow me to introducte the owner of this blog:

Who is the Scholar? - That would be me in this case. I am María Nieves Bazán, a student at the ISFD N°41, in her 4th year of English Teaching course. I'm 33 years old and I live in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Now, if you're wondering about the particular name of this blog, allow me to explain why I chose each word:

Winter - This word is closely related to the English translation of my name, Nieves (which is Snow!). I also happened to be born during Winter! But that's not all; this word evokes the idea of a warm and cozy library during a Winter night, with a burning fireplace and its crackling flames.

Scholar - Defined as 'someone who learns' but is also knowledgeable in some subject, a scholar pursues academic and intellectual goals, contribute to academic journals, and is always eager to learn more about something in particular. This is something that us teachers can relate to; we never stop learning new things even as we teach! However, a true scholar also possesses a healthy dose of humility and a keen awareness of his or her own limits and areas for improvement. Needless to say, this also applies to teachers.

Archive - Often defined as a repository or collection of information in the form of old documents, books, objects, etc. meant to preserve them and allow future access to them. It can also be the name of the physical building o institution that houses said collection. Why did I chose this word for my blog? Simple. It is because this particular blog also serves as a collection of my own writings (personal and informative ones); it helps preserve them so that I can keep track of my progress and share it with others for them to learn as well.
